The Key to Middle School Success and a Giveaway

My tween was a bag of nerves before she stated middle school. She had watched her older sister go to 6th grade. She knew the ropes. We had visited the middle school many times. But, she was nervous…

It did not  help that the 5th grade teachers, counselors, and administration spent weeks talking to the kids about the middle school locker. The locker is a big deal for tweens. For years in elementary school, students store their materials in their desks, on the back of chairs in pouches, or in bins in the classroom.  The 5th graders even  go to try a locker. Here’s the thing. None of them could successfully open the locker. My daughter was overwrought with worry.

The solution presented itself through a review I was asked to do for Master Lock. I was sent a cute pink lock from MasterLock. The lock was released in time for Breast Cancer Awareness Month — I know, I know it has taken me some time to get to this review! In addition to raising awareness, MasterLock is supported the Breast Cancer Research Foundation with a $15,000 donation.

John Heppner, CEO of Fortune Brands Storage and Security, which includes MasterLock, states that “By expanding our breadth of pink looking products, not only are we helping our consumers lock up their valuables to keep them safe and secure, we hope to unlock a cure for breast cancer by raising awareness and funding research.”

Each of the specially designed pink looking locks is emblazoned with a pink awareness ribbon, the universal symbol of breast cancer awareness, and is targeted towards a range of security needs:
