Step2 Play Up Gym: Recall

step2-playsetI look forward to reading the recall e-mails from the www.cpsc.gov — the Consumer Product Safety Commission. I know this sounds odd, but I WANT to know if a toy or household product or article of clothing is dangerous. Once I receive an e-mail, I remove the item from our home. Most companies will offer a refund or a repair kit or my favorite a replacement item.

Do you own this swingset? It’s a Step2 Play Up Gym — Model No. 797300. The triangular hangers that attach the swing’s ropes to the upper rail of the play set can break, posing a fall hazard to children. Swingsets are dangerous enough without having a problem with the hanging of the swings.

To see this recall on CPSC’s web site, including a picture of the recalled product, please go to: https://www.cpsc.gov/cpscpub/prerel/prhtml09/09231.html

Do you remember Magnetix? This set of magnetic pieces and magnetic balls was recalled by MegaBrands (purchased from RoseArt). MegaBrands asked consumers to return the recalled item in return for an item from their catalog of equal value. Excellent customer service!
