Holiday Gift Guide: @DaGeDar Marble Race Toy [Review]

August 30, 2011
By

I loved marbles when I was a kid. Marbles felt weighty in my small hands. I would roll marbles along the sidewalk cracks. My kids love marbles, too. They love balls and anything that rolls.

The concept of rolling a ball along a crack or on a track is the basis of a new toy by Cepia, the makers of ZhuZhu Pets®. We all know how to play with marbles. Cepia has upped the ante on the simple game of marbles with a new toy.Think: Marbles on hyperspeed!

DaGeDar™ are supercharged battle balls, which encourage strategy and skill. The DaGeDar™ battle balls are used with a race track. The race tracks can be configured in different ways to create a different racing experience for your child. DaGeDar™ is a collectible racing game that lets kids set the rules.

The DaGeDar™ (pronounced DAH-geh-DAAR)  supercharged battle balls are collectible. The balls have a special feel and weight. Once I felt the weight of one of the DaGeDar™ balls in my hand I couldn’t resist racing it on the track. The ball flew around the track after rolling down from the top of the racetrack my son built. He and I had fun racing the brightly colored, unique DaGeDar™ balls.

This year more than 240 different DaGeDar™ ball graphics are planned for release, with varying degrees of rarity. Each DaGeDar™ battle ball depicts a graphic design that reflects the true energy contained within it. Your child can register the special code for each DaGeDar™ ball on the DaGeDar™ website.  Logging the code on to the DaGeDar™ will allow your child to find the special power, which can help with racing strategy!

My son, his siblings, and friends learned how to control the speed and velocity of DaGeDar™ balls. The kids had fun moving the balls along tracks that featured loops and turns. My son experimented with the DaGeDar™ Battle Launcher — that thing was fast!
